i want to dye my hair. I have medium length medium brown color hair. I was thinking of one blonde streak on each sid in the front. Then I might do the rest red highlights. What do u guys think?!?

If I were you I would forget the the blonde streak on both sides..Have your hair foiled with, bleach, and red highlights evenly throughout the crown area..More of a natural look.

I have had both lengths throughout my life, and I personally find long hair to be much less maintenance than short hair. Short hair (and medium shoulder length) is nothing but frustration, at least for me. Am I the only one who thinks that or is there someone else out there who agrees?

However short hair doesn't really look cute unless its styled, which takes more time than just throwing long hair up in a pony tail or messy bun. So yes i do agree short hair can be more maintenance! Take some gel or mousse and just scrunch random sections if it dosent work with the straightned hair then i would wet it a little

or if you have a really big crimper you can crimp it but scrunching is probally your best option

Then braid it really tight

When you wake up but some more gel in it very LITTLE hair spary, flip your hair and blow dry you hair upside down!

put some moose in your hair and some frizz control in damp hair. then put your head upside down and use a blowdryer with a difuser and hold your hair in sections and do that untill dry.

Two ways. Use some texturizer. I love the Pantene texturizer spray. Definitly get it. Or braid your hair when its damp. Sleep in it overnight. In the morning take out the braid brush it with your fingers or very lightly with a comb. and then add the pantene texturizer. Either way get the pantene.

Hmmm. I'd say yes. Long hair always turns heads and grabs any guys attention. (black, white, hispanic,etc) But my boyfriend likes my hair no matter how long it is, what color i dye it, how short i cut it, etc. Most guys aren't big on the hair. Thats a girl thing. And white guys dont know anything about black people's hair anyway. So trust me it's NOT important to them. As long as it's healthy and you keep it looking nice!

Well first off we all are different colors. Some of us are darker and some are lighter. Me personally, I am brown skinned. Not dark brown just a shade under caramel. And in the summertime, when the sun is shinning on me. My skin glows into a pretty golden tan color. I've been told that my best colors to wear are pink and red. I think dark colors look best on me. Like burgundy, wine, olive green, brown, tan, etc.

My best advice is to find a color(s) that really compliments your complextion type.

My best advice to you is too see a professional. I go to hair stylist that's been working in a professional salon for many years. And she specializes in hair treatment and putting severly damage hair back in a healthy state. I had very long hair as a child. But when i got in my teens i starting combing and playing with my own hair. So it begin to fall out. So I started going to my stylist and letting her give me hair treatments. And my hair grew back faster. And i still go to the same stylist and let her treat it so it can stay healthy and continue to grow long.

So my best advice is too find a real good salon in your area. The only thing is this can be expensive. But hopefully you might can find someone who's reasonable with prices. It never hurts too try. Hope that helps!! =]]

My hair is wavy and medium length. It is way to thick. The hair dressers always gather when i get my hair cut to see. UGHHHH.I can't wake-up and sit their for 30-45 minutes to straigten this mop. i wan't those cute ringlets kinda like the olsen twins had once. Not a perm or curls just big ringlets.NO and I repeat NO curling irons not messin up my hair.

Well without a curling iron my suggestion is: when your hair is wet put a good amount of gel in your hair and then take a wide tooth comb and comb it through from scalp to ends, take a blow dryer with a diffuser on it, flip your head over and start to scrunch your hair until almost dry. Flip your head back up and put your hair in place. Just something for you to try. Hope this helps

use "nandi's solar rollers" you put them in before bed and they are so soft so you can sleep on them and then in the morning, you take them out and then your hair is perfect. you can find them at walmart for $5. i also have thick hair and when i decided to let it grow, it didn't curl like it use to. my hair dresser said it was too heavy, too much strain. but i missed my curls and saw this product. i bought it and it really works. they are easy and provide real results!

You can put curlers in your hair right after you wash your hair and keep them in for the whole night. Use BIG curlers or you'll get too curly, little ringlets. If you find your hair too curly, you can brush some of the curl out of it.

okay just take a flat iron and wrap it around the egde kinda nd then dont keep spinning it but pull it towards the end of your hair. It curls the hair but doesnt take long and doesnt look to fancy. It looks really good if you do just the front too.

you can put a bump or you can make it flat and leave the rest down or in pigtails with bangs

if you have a lot of clips you can put your hair in a pony tail then take chunks and twist them then clip them in different ways....it kind of looks like a funnel cake

lastly you can take about an inch of the front of your hair and pull it behind the rest of your hair wit a pony tail....add gel....then its like a natural headband....I suggest this so your hair wont get messed up and plus its only a movie

How do you do ringlet curls?

I have wavy/straight medium length hair and I want to do ringlets. I have a Revlon curling iron. I would say it's a pretty cheap hair iron. Is there such a thing as a ringlet iron? And if not, how would I do my hair with a iron. I tried using the iron by taking a small strand of hair and wrapping it around the curling iron and then unwrapping it slowly. All that did was curl the end strand of my hair... I heard that bobby pins work; you just have to keep them in all night and then unwrap them in the morning. Does that work? If I got a perm would that make my hair really short, and how long would it stay in?

How do you do ringlet curls?

RINGLET CURLS:

1. Heat up a curling iron [thickness according to how tight you want the curls to be---thin iron=tight curls, thick iron=looser curls] according to your hair texture and thickness [there should be information on this in the directions that come with the curling iron. If not, ask your hairstylist].

2. Wrap 1 to 2 inch sections around the iron [again depending on thickness of hair]. Keep the barrel closed to avoid creases and the curling iron straight up.

3. The amount of time you hold the curling iron there depends again on the thickness of your hair and how obedient it is. Try holding for ten seconds, and if that doesn't do it, then keep adding a few seconds on until you get the right curl. Trial and error!

4. I would reccomend working in sections. Start with your hair half-up-half-down and curl the bottom half of your hair first. It's the same concept you use to straighten your hair. Work in sections, starting from the bottom, working your way up.

5. I would also reccomend having your hair stylist show you how to do this first, perhaps have her write down instructions and key tips to remember, before you try it at home.

curl you hair with a ringlet curler....thats what i do and itt works very well. the revlon curling iron does not work for ringlet curls but it is great if you want just a little bit of a wave. there is such thing as a ringlet iron....i own it!

If you have a round face you should stick to bangs on one side and leave it medium.

if you're light brown then you should go with a low blond[it's blond and brown lookin] more like the beyonce but if you want to spice it up a little bit then go with the hot red or burgundy. try and stay away from dark colors they won't bring out your complexion as much as the lighter colors do and if you do like dark colors then try putting color on the tips so it looks as if it's fading in good luck

Try curling it with the curler on medium setting, loose curls work best on most hair types and then get some cute pins and pin the front section of you hair back...it gives your hair extra volume..also I would recommend you use hairspray to help you out try Aussie it works for me....and I also got a couple hair tips from seventeen magazine they have good hair and make-up advice

i have super straight hair. I never use a straightner. But when i try to curl my hair, it gets straight in about 2 hours. even with product use. If u have bangs, put it up and puff it up (with a hairbrush). It would have more volume that way. and then have ur hair staright down from the side it looks cute. but also u can kinda of curl it to the outside

For scene hair, make sure you have a side fringe, and have the bottom layer of your hair really long - longer than other lays. If you're getting it done at a salon you can find a picture from www.photobucket.com and search 'scene hair' and find a picture that you like and print it and show your hair stylist and they will get it done for you.

Scene hair consist of chompy layers.

You also need hair products like hair spray etc... and need to know how to tease your hair!

I need hairstyle help?

I have medium length hair just above my shoulders. It has enough wave to it to make it look like I haven't brushed it...I think it's called a cowlick...normally one side will look normal/straight/smooth and the other side wavy/messy/bulky. I go to the salon and get it cut and they can make it look so good...but as soon as I wash it I can not get the style back and I'm stuck with the weird hair again. It's very frustrating. What I need is a hairstyle that I can do myself without looking like I just crawled out of bed. I've tried flat irons, straightening creams, conditioners out the wazoo and my hair is still stubborn and I can not get the style I want. I need any suggestions because I'm about ready to shave this mop off my head. I don't want wavy hair or curly hair...I just want straight normal hair that I can tame!! Help!

If your hair has natural texture that only way to remove it would be permanently straightening it with chemicals. Next time you get a trim ask you stylist to instruct you on some quick easy ways to get the style you want.

every good style starts with a good shampoo and conditioner. get a product meant your your hair type.

get a really good flat iron and straighten your hair, make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry before straightening or it will make it worse. CHI has great products, irons, blow dryers, serums, shampoos, conditioners, sprays, they're awesome.

or you could blow dry your hair. make sure you do it so your hair doesn't frizz up, meaning dont point the blow dryer upward, point it down the hair shaft to make it nice and smooth. get a round brush, they have cheap ones in stores that work well. get one that has a metal base with holes in it, those are the best, at least i find they work better. but before you blow dry, use a serum or leave in conditioner or both if you want. i like paul mitchel "super skinny" hair serum, it makes your hair soft, shiny, and best of all, no frizz. or you could use "frizz ez" that works well too.

and the next time you go to the salon ask you stylist to tell you what they are doing to your hair step by step when they are styling it.

I suggest a bob or a wrap. I have the same problem. I h=just got my hair cut . The great things about wraps are the fact that they are very easy to handle and they help your hair row fast. get some wrap and tap. apply it to your hair (after a perm) an sit under the dryer for 45 minutes to an hour. I know it sounds time consuming but It's worth it. Then, at night, throw it back wit a part in it and tie a scarf around it.simple. Comb it out in the morning. No worries!

after shampooing and conditioning it, get someone to braid it in about 7 or so cornrows ( while its wet) and sit under the dryer or tie it down and in morning take them down and comb your hair with a wide tooth comb. Hi guys,

I have medium length dark brown hair which springs upwards in slight curls...i.e. not straight and droopy.

Whenever I shower myself (i.e. every night), my hair of course becomes nice and soft and silky. However, it becomes just one uniform mass of hair, kind of afro style except less so.

Whenever I put Fudge Matte Hed into my hair, it makes it nice and textured and cool and sexy. However, my hair of course becomes sticky and hard and doesnt feel nice.

However, how can I get this effect that I get from gel and wax (i.e. nicely styled and textured) etc...but keep my hair feeling soft and silky?

That is to say, how can I get soft but textured hair?

Or is it impossible? Is it just something I have to live with, if I want textured hair) being a boy with my kind of hair?

Going to bed with wet uncombed hair does you no favours.

Dry it before you go to bed, or spray your hair with water in the morning.

It sounds like wax would be more suitable for your hair, make sure you only use a little and rub it into your fingers first to warm it up, if you have long hair, then use serum.

curly hair is hardest to maintain. The best way is to get it layered (sorry but...)

Also you need to experiment with different shampoos, many are catered to hair like yours but when your hair gets used to a shampoo it isn't as effective (so change your brand every 6months or year or so).

When you hair is setting blow dry gently- do not comb through. The "wind" will make your hair touch soft. Try using pure aloe vera gel too

If you really want to go to a beautician before getting micro braids, I would go for a deep conditioning and that's it. Your hair should be ready for a trim after you take the braids out anyway. Otherwise, you can just do a hot oil treatment and deep condition at home like 2-3 days before getting braids. Make sure the girl that is doing your braids does not braid too tight, especially around your hairline as that will cause SERIOUS breakage. Braids are great for the summer months!

I currently have medium length hair curly, blonde hair.

I am going to get it cut soon but can not decide what style to get.

Here is my problem.

I love long hair because it is so elegant when you wear it. I also love it worn tied up, it can do just about any style.

Although I really like short bob haircuts because you can straighten/curl easily.

I want to keep it curly so whatever style I have it would have to have heaps of layers. I could get most of it cut off, or I could just get a trim.

Hi! I also have curly hair %26amp; got it cut last week. My hair was quite long, half way down my back but I was getting sick of it %26amp; wanted a new style! So I cut it just abit past my shoulders with lots of layers %26amp; got some highlights to show off my cirls more! I think long hair is gorgeous. I'v got pretty long hair (about half way down my back), but im trying to grow it just a little bit longer. Especially because your hair is curly, i think it would curl up even more at a shorter length. Long curls would look alot better. Trim it every 8 weeks and let it grow. That's what i think anyway...

Actually, if you put some white blonde highlights between your curls, it would look stunning :)

I had my hair cut short a number of months ago, and love the thicker texture, but regret what little I can do with it. You have much more flexibility with longer hair, which you can either straighten, or leave with its natural curl.

Remember. if you have it shorn short, it'll take quite a while to grow out in length . . .

if you have curly hair...please dont cut it to short unless you know your going to always have it straight...otherwise it will get curlier than ever, frizzier and look way shorter , you will have an afro...im not even kidding....curly hair shouldnt be shorter shoulder length..personally i prefer long hair, my hair is like right under my chest(middle boob area) i love it long even though i dont wear it down that much i know that when i want to go out or look extra special ive got long hair that can be worn curly or straight....its one of my favorite features, i always get compliments on my hair when its worn down..... only thing is it bugs me when its down so i put it up alot...but atleast i have the choice u know...

anyways one thing i suggest though...layers are fun and make ur hair easier to style and give it life... ke sure your shortest layer is not shorter than ur jaw and if u get side bangs or any bags at all, make sure its a thin section not a thick one...my side bangs were way too thick this time and i hate them because i always pin them up now...good luck and have fun

Long hair is gorgeous, but a short haircut can also look great if you have the right facial features for it. Cutting your hair much shorter is a big step and it would be good to use hairstyles software first to try different styles on a picture of yourself to make sure you will realy like the new look.

I've got long brown locks which are straight and sleek.

You seem to like a lot of styles,i suggest you get layers but without cutting the length at the back.Layers always look gorgeous with straight %26amp; curly hair.It still looks good even if you have medium length hair because it doesn't take much length off your hair.

Try something interesting like black highlights... Black goes well with blue and brown, it neutralises them both. Light brown is too common.

ok about 2 days ago i went to the salon to get layers on my medium length hair (below my shoulders). I started noticing that the hairdresser was cutting it a little too short on the left side so i made her stop! I started freaking out when i realized that the layers were already above my ear and only on the left side!!! i started screaming at her and she said she'll try to fix it but I already had too much! another hairdresser came and fixed the right side (she actually did the layers that i wanted) but now my hair is uneven. short on the left and longer on the right!

I feel for you!! My best advice would to style your hair to the side, not perfectly in the center or put some clips on the sides so it wont be so obvious. I dont think anything will grow your hair fast enough. Try going back to the salon and demand you have extensions put in for free or you will take them to small claims court!

I don't think you're going to want to try hair growth products...

Just find a cute hairstyle (pulled back with a cute head band, pulled back with a clip, pulled back with a ribbon) that's pulled back, and wait it out.

This will also give you the opprotunity to discover new pulled-back styles, and make you vary your look more when your hair grows back.

Don't sweat it, at any rate. It'll blow over, you'll have fantastic hair, and some great style, and maybe one day you'll be able to forgive the stylist. She probably feels awful about ruining your hair (even if it should grow back in about a month).

Depending how much natural body you have in your hair this may or may not work but you can try it. While your hair is damp put some mousse or gel in you hair. With your dryer on the low speed and high heat setting take handfuls of your hair and scrunch it up while you are drying it. Dont wave the blower all around your head or that will make it fuzzy looking. Don't dry the hair completely dry.....about 90% dry. Spray with hairspray and then scrunch again. For a fuller look tip your head upside down while doing this.

hi, I'm a stylist and have been for years..if u find that trimming and layers dont work for u ..then u need to look into what your using for products..sometimes if u have fine, limp hair(me)..u cant put much products in it after its washed or for styling..it just further weighs it down. what u need is something lite, and voluminous, i

recommend 'after party' by bed head..put in just b4 blow drying, try to stay away from gels and mousse bc they tend to be very heavy..use a lite hairspray for fine hair..i recommend w8tless by rusk...designed for gals like us.

Try Lamaur's Bone Marrow Treatment. You can also do hot oil treatments with castor oil. There's this thing called MTG that is supposed to help your hair grow in thicker and longer but some ppl think it's a little extreme (worked for me though). You can find out about it in the forums on this site:

Also, don't comb your hair a lot. Try to leave your hair out instead of pulling it back all the time. If you think it looks too thin when its out try sleeping with your hair in satin rollers (you can get them at a beauty supply store) and wear your hair curly. You could also braid it up at night. That will make it look wavy and a little thicker in the morning.

Oh yea, and try volumizing shampoos and conditions (like Creme of Nature's volumizing shampoo/conditioner).

Okay chicky, if you have a salon or an Ulta in your area go in and head straight for Redken. They have a line in dark blue bottles for totally overhauled damaged hair, buy the shampoo, conditioner and if they sell the small packets of treatments buy a few of those too, they only run a buck or two. Also, you may want to buy some Anti-Frizz and/ or Soft treatments. This will help those ends and the over all condition of your hair.

Also get a good serum to use, Paul Mitchell, Redken, John Freida, Garnier, nowadays everyone makes a serum, put that on when your hair is damp and it will act as a shine AND a thermal protectant.

If you find yourself in an Ulta store, ask for the Chi products. Chi is a company that makes flat irons but they've now come out with great thermal protectants and repair treatments for dry damaged hair.

And for a style, if you cut in more layers and get some texture added you can get rid of a ton of that bad damaged hair without loseing any length.

i have your same problem but i have combination hair like its oily at the roots and really frazzeled at the bottom and theres aussie shampoo for it and that helps frazzeled ends also i have this bedhead stuff called mega vitamen and its a deep conditioner and and you keep it on for about 20 minutes and then rinse it so i would say get heat protection spray and walk down the haircare aisle at walmart and youll see what im talking about good luck! and about the hairstyle i have bangs and i would NEVER get rid of them so dont worry about a cut if you like yours now

u need a relaxer aka perm...they go 4 about 5-20$ a box...follow the directions on the box...the formulas break down the dead skin on ur scalp,get rid of split ends,and make ur hair look shiny and straight...
