Can anyone suggest what to do with my hair???

i am an 18 year old girl with medium length dark brown hair although it is a mousey colour naturally. i straighten it nearly every day as it is too frizzy to waer naturally. my hair has been like this for years now and need a change..any suggestions???

I would suggest going to a reputable salon and having a professional stylist take a look at your hair -give them an idea of what you want and have them treat and style your hair. I'm sure they can provide you with plenty of helpful suggestions and products to help you maintain your hair at home. If you're not sure what type of style or coloring you want I'm sure they have a library of pictures for you to look at. Or you can go to your local grocery store to the magazine isle and check out some of the magazines to get an idea of what you want.

Well it sounds like you just want a change right now. I would suggest gettin choppy layers in it and some lowlights or highlights added. So that when you do straighten it wont get as frizzy and it would be cute in a ponytail or a messy bun. Your hair kind of sounds like mine and i just got it colored and cut recently like i described to you and i LOVE it!!

If you're unsure, ask a proffesional what highlights they might recommend. They'll usually come up with some good ideas and if you don't like them try another hairdresser. If you need insight you can ask them about almost anything, cuts, shampooing, styling, and decide what you like from their feedback. That's quite a broad answer but it's definately the way to go.

If you are unhappy with the quality of straightening your iron does, I recommend getting a quality iron. They are way worth it (coming from someone who pretty much has an afro for hair). If you don't want to straighten your hair anymore, there are certain hair care products that with blow-drying, etc., can help you control your frizzy hair.

How about a cute short bob and just using some mousse to tame the frizz? After you wash your hair, apply mousse (or gel if you like that wet look) to your tresses, and allow to dry naturally.

I too am naturally curly. A cut can be okay or WOW! great if you get it done by someone who is great with naturally curly hair but if you cut it for a straight style then you will have to make sure it will also look ok when it's curly! (for Rainy days or at the Pool or whatever) If you don't want to cut in in layers because you are unsure, then get a makeover at a Photo/Makeover place nearest your home. If you are scared, then do a Virtual makeover online (there are free sites) and try a NEW hair style with your photo. you will need to scan at home or the public library or a friend's home or somewhere.
