Costume for party...help!?

I'm going to a party on Monday night and the theme is 60s and 70s retro...what would be something cute and not dorky that I could wear for it? I have straight brown medium length hair if that matters. I know hair was big thing back then...and give some examples...maybe some pix. Thanks so much!

Go to the library and look at the fashions of that time.

straight brown hair sounds perfect for a bohemian chick (hippie) and the thing is that is in style again now so you could wear what you buy more than once. Check out www.wetseal.com the first page tells about the bohemian trend. give that a click and check it out!

Easiest thing that would be awesomest and not the same thing everyone else is wearing? %26amp;0's sport star, wear short-shorts, like AA running shorts in red (http://store.americanapparel.net/7301.ht... tall striped socks, tennis shoes, T-shirt, terry sweatband over hair, sweatshirt if it's going to be cold. You could also totally wear rollerskates with this, but that would be a bit too over the top. I'm sure you can find all this at American Apparel, but it would be more expensive if sweat-shop free, or at Target.

Another cute thing would be to go to a thrift store and find any cute, short dress and then a really cute belt for your waist. Wear a ribbon around your head like a hippy, and regardless of what the dress looks like you can pretend it is 60s and, trust me, no one will know the difference and just be amazed by how cute you are. Good luck!
