Steps to dye hair blonde?

I have shoulder length hair with bangs... I have natural medium brown hair with blonde highlights... I haven't used any other color on my hair besides the blonde highlights... what steps should I take if I want to get to a golden blonde? Kind of like a "brigitte bardot" blonde

... A hairstylist said that I could just continue to get more and more highlights... or I could dye my hair blonde (without bleach)... but that it would take a couple of times to get it that color since it wont be bleached... and she said it wouldn't damage my hair as much either...

But I want to know from anyone who has actually done this... Preferably people with personal experience... how long does it take... what are the steps to achieve a pretty golden blonde? How long does it last? How do you touch up?...etc

if your a brunnette like me i wouldnt do it myself! go to a hair stylist because the 1st time dying your hair blonde is going to be harder then dying your hair blonde if it was red!!

trust me

you touch it up by simply just re-dying ,. and also it will take 4 - 7 weeks if you dont bleach it!

my hair is natural really dark brown. I tried highlights and they didnt work to well.so i decided one day i want half of my head light blonde and the bottom part black...

I went to Regis in the mall ( a hair place) and they just did foil highlights to cover the whole top half my hair.

worked great. it was the color i wanted and everything.

2 weeks later my hair grew and i looked like shakira! haha.

So.. i dyed it back black becuase it was to expensive to go every 2 weeks for $100 touch up.

i dont know what im going to do next though cause i do want some kind of color in my hair.

when i went there was no way to turn brown into blonde without bleach. and it is very damaging made my hair really rough so i had to do a deep conditioning treatment.

i highlight my hair, but I'm a natural blond. I also use this shampoo called watercolors for blonds so that I'm more blonder. It really works cause I think there's a little die in the shampoo so i would recommend it.

if u have brown hair,it will be better that u don't color ur hair blonde.

but though u want,then 1 st use REVLON BLEACH for hair %26amp; then use REVLON COLORSILK blonde hair color.

i think blonde haircolor looks beautyful only on VERY FAIR PINKISH skin.if ur skin color is normal fair,then avoid that color.

first you want to bleach to get it light, then use a blonde hair color to get it the blonde you want. i've done it so many times. thats the system that works for me. if you go to sally's they will tell you how much bleach powder you need and how long to leave it in for. plus sally's is so much cheaper than a retail store and the quality is better
